Equine Therapy

Equine Assisted Therapy and horsemanship classes have commenced for the 2025 season! We are delighted to have partnered with the Hope Reigns Foundation in Rathdrum, Idaho. All students at Integrated Interventions have the opportunity to spend time at the ranch and work on their personal growth as well as horseman ship skills.

At Hope Reigns, the EAGALA Model is used, a globally recognized approach to equine-assisted psychotherapy and personal development. It brings together a licensed mental health professional, a certified equine specialist, and horses to create a unique, experiential therapy setting.

More about the EAGALA Method:

How It Works

A Team Approach – Every session includes a licensed mental health professional and an equine specialist. Together, they create a safe space where clients can interact with the horses.

On the Ground – Clients work alongside horses in activities like leading, grooming, or problem-solving challenges.

Learning Through Experience – Horses are highly sensitive to human emotions and body language. They respond in the moment, giving clients valuable feedback and creating opportunities for reflection and growth.

Why Horses?
Horses are natural observers. Because they’re prey animals, they notice even the smallest changes in energy, tone, or body language. This makes them incredible partners in therapy because they are honest, non-judgmental, and responsive in ways that help clients better understand themselves and their relationships.

Who Can Benefit?

The EAGALA Method has been shown to help with:

  • Stress, anxiety, and depression

  • Trauma recovery (including veterans and first responders)

  • Addiction and substance abuse support

  • Family and relationship challenges

  • Teen and young adult struggles

  • Building leadership, trust, and communication skills

Hope Reins is open April-October each year, but is closed for the winter months.
