CLINICAL TEAM MISSION

The mission of Integrated Intervention’s clinical team is to empower young adults in their journey towards holistic healing and personal growth by providing comprehensive and compassionate therapy services within a safe and supportive semi-residential environment. Through evidence-based interventions, individualized treatment plans, and a dedicated team of professionals, we strive to foster resilience, self-discovery, and the acquisition of essential life skills. By addressing the unique needs and challenges of each resident, we aim to promote long-term recovery, emotional well-being, and the development of a strong foundation for a fulfilling and purposeful future.

CLINICAL TEAM CORE VALUES

Self Determination
In a student-centered therapeutic approach, students are recognized as the primary drivers of their treatment, with control over decision-making about their well-being. Collaboration between students and therapists is emphasized, with shared treatment planning and interventions. By giving students autonomy, their agency and unique perspectives are respected, fostering a sense of ownership, responsibility, and engagement. This collaborative approach builds a therapeutic alliance based on trust and respect, empowering students to actively participate in their own healing and growth, leading to meaningful outcomes.

Trust
Integrated clinicians build meaningful relationships with students based on transparency and confidentiality. By establishing trust and fostering open communication, students are provided with a safe space to freely share their thoughts and feelings. These trusting relationships create an environment conducive to collaboration, where students can actively participate in the therapeutic process and work towards their goals.
Respect
Integrated students often have a long history of treatment interventions. Integrated clinicians deeply respect the efforts and progress made by the students in their previous treatments. We understand the value of the students' past experiences and actively strive to incorporate these experiences into the development of the students' current treatment plans. By honoring the students' journey and recognizing their resilience, clinicians create an atmosphere of respect that empowers students to actively participate in their own healing process. This collaborative approach acknowledges the unique strengths and insights that students bring to the table, fostering a sense of validation and promoting a greater sense of ownership and engagement in their therapeutic journey.
Empowerment
Integrated clinicians value and promote the empowerment of their clients. They believe in the inherent strength and resilience of individuals and work to foster self-empowerment. We support students in gaining a sense of control over their lives, making autonomous decisions, and taking steps towards positive change. Through collaborative goal setting and providing tools and resources, we help students develop the confidence and skills necessary to navigate challenges and achieve their desired outcomes.

What are you passionate about as a mental health provider?
"As a therapist I love the moments when students find realizations that they can implement in their lives because they recognize the value in the work we are doing together. When someone goes from doing something because they are told to doing something they can see the benefit in, the student takes steps towards good 'adulting'"

What do you enjoy about your role at Integrated?
"I love my at Integrated. Getting to manage an awesome team of clinicians while doing meaningful work with our students is extremely fulfilling. I have been working in residential care for many years and have loved being apart of the Integrated treatment team's unique view of transitional aged programming."

What therapeutic book do you live by?
I know it may seem somewhat cliché to reference Brené Brown in the field of social work, but her book "Daring Greatly" has had a profound impact on my leadership approach in clinical practice. It has instilled in me the importance of embracing vulnerability for the right reasons, leading by example, and viewing progress as an ongoing state of authenticity rather than a final destination. Brown's insights have shaped my understanding of the significance of vulnerability in fostering meaningful connections and creating a nurturing environment for growth. Her emphasis on wholehearted living and the courage to show up as our true selves has greatly influenced my approach to leadership and my commitment to the therapeutic process.

What are you passionate about as a mental health provider?

"I am passionate about witnessing the spark of recognition and new awareness in someone's eyes. Seeing solutions at work in people's lives brings me immense joy. I treasure the opportunity to be of service to and connected with my students, clients, and the individuals I supervise. As the Director of Therapeutic Services, I have the privilege of extending support beyond the therapy office and promoting the well-being of the Integrated team members."

What do you enjoy about your role at Integrated?
"I thoroughly enjoy my role at Integrated. Managing a remarkable team of clinicians while engaging in meaningful work with our students is incredibly fulfilling. Having worked in residential care for many years, I appreciate the unique perspective that the Integrated treatment team brings to transitional aged programming."

What Therapeutic book do you live by?
A favorite therapy book is The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris. Harris is one of the founders of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, my favorite modality. The premise is that we are being sold a lie in western culture, that if we're not always happy, something is very very wrong. This runs counter to reality, such as, if a loved one dies, I'd be far more concerned were you fighting to be happy, instead of allowing yourself to grieve, especially since your loved one is probably worth grieving! The book offers a roadmap through allowing whatever feelings we're experiencing as a natural outgrowth of the human experience (one might argue our wide ranging emotions are what make us human). Allow our emotions and move forward in a valued direction despite the emotions.

What are you passionate about as a mental health provider?
As a therapist, I am passionate about the population of young adults that we serve. I am also passionate in regards to trying new approaches to reach and create therapeutic relationships with individuals who have been treatment and/or therapy resistant in the past. "I've had student's come to me and say "I hate therapy, I am not going to do therapy" and it is such an awesome experience when, weeks later, the student is in my office talking to me about their week and, with or without realizing, is DOING therapy."

What do you enjoy about your role at Integrated?
As a program therapist at Integrated, I enjoy having the ability to spend time with students in their day-to-day lives as they navigate both familiar and unfamiliar situations. I enjoy having the ability to assist them in processing and finding solutions that work for them and their future goals within the space of therapy."As the program therapist, it is unique that I am able to engage with clients as they engage in regular daily activities such as: cleaning, cooking, watching television, putting their makeup on, getting ready for job interviews/work, etc. This allows space for therapeutic work and questions to happen outside of the traditional therapy office."

What therapeutic book do you live by?
A book that I have found very relevant to my therapeutic work is “The Body Keeps the Score” by Bessel Van Der Kolk, M.D.. As a provider, I tend to look through a trauma lens when working with clients. Many of the clients that I serve have been through traumatic experiences and/or have a diagnosis associated with trauma. While there is no way to measure traumatic experiences, this book explains the importance of recognizing these adverse experiences and their impact on our whole selves. It also recognizes that we have the ability to develop an understanding of our physiological reactions and choices, so that we can create a response and understanding that better serves where we are going, or trying to go, in the future.

What are you passionate about as a mental health provider?
“Something I am passionate about as a therapist is the ability to get to know people and have authentic conversations. As a therapist, I can assist people as they work through emotional burdens, and personal challenges and I can help them achieve a healthier mindset.”

What do you enjoy about your role at Integrated?
“It has been my experience in the mental health field that people are often controlled and/or expected not to make mistakes. Integrated understands that people make mistakes, and we use those mistakes as continued learning opportunities. The way Integrated utilizes natural consequence allows space for the students to have autonomy as well as support and guidance as they go through the next steps of their journey.”

What therapeutic book do you live by?
"
A therapeutic book I have been deeply inspired by would be Brene Brown’s “The Gift’s of Imperfection.” It has allowed me to genuinely and vulnerably practice what it means to not only be authentic but to embrace that authenticity. Reading and applying some of the invaluable lessons learned has allowed me to release self judgment and allow myself to experience belonging in its more true form. This has impacted my work by allowing me to see the value in empathy, and adopting the methodology of living for ourselves, and not other people."
