KAYLA CULLETON

DIRECTOR OF THERAPEUTIC SERVICES | TEXAS

Kayla started working in residential treatment in 2009 as a youth and family specialist. At this time she was pursuing her associates degree in Human Services at Central Maine Community College. The experience and connections created during this time led Kayla to continue her education by obtaining a Bachelors degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences.

While continuing her education, Kayla obtained the certificate and worked as a certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC) as well as a mental health rehabilitation technician (MHRT-C). In Kayla’s role as a CADC, she provided individual and group sessions in the field of recovery and provided case management services and crisis support.

When working as an MHRT-C, Kayla provided services to adults in the community to increase skills around successful independent living and community inclusion. At this time Kayla learned more about the complexities of residential treatment as well as independent living facilities. In working with the residents and a multidisciplinary team, it quickly became evident the value and importance of a social worker’s role.

As a result, Kayla started earning her Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of New England. At this time she became trained in behavior modification therapy and worked with adolescents in home and school settings to provide intensive behavior services, developing and implementing behavior plans, collaborating with families and other team members to ensure successful treatment.

Kayla brings ten years of experience to the Integrated team. Rather than adopting one methodology for all individual and challenges, Kayla draws from a variety of methods to create a more individualistic approach for each situation. Kayla assists and supports others with honest caring and without judgement. Kayla believes that change happens when people are given the guidance and support they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling, joyful lives. In Kayla’s spare time you can find her kayaking, camping or fishing. Kayla enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs.
